Sometimes you want to remove something as you don’t see the need to keep it displayed. Recently someone wanted to remove the recent content section from the end of the blog posts as they didn’t require it.

Code Snippet – Unloading The Code

This script overwrites the actual code which generates the Recent Content and the display. Just download the file, import the file, then activate it with the switch in the (All Snippets) area.

Don’t enable from within the script area as it fights with the real script as it then tries to run both at the same time.

Custom CSS – Hide Display

This requires 2 additions to Custom CSS to remove the sections as there is a part that controls the actual article display and a second part to remove the Recent Content header.

.recent-articles-container {
        display: none;
}

h3.h2 {
    display: none;
}

  1. Hi, Could you help me remove the post excerpt from the recent content section? Rest all should remain as is. Not using CSS but directly from the theme code.

    1. It isn’t something you want to do via theme edit as it will need to be done each update meaning lots of consistent remembering to do after each update. Any reason why you don’t want to hide the text?

      1. I also thought of changing the length of the excerpt, so it would be useful for me to modify and test it from the theme code.
        Thanks

    1. Thats Why I had the warning

      Don’t enable from within the script area as it fights with the real script as it then tries to run both at the same time.

      You want to enable from outside in the “all snippets” section instead.

      1. I know, I tried, but it doesn’t work there either. It says “an error occurred when attempting to activate” with the exclamation mark icon on the switch.
