For those looking to customize their navigation within Acabado moving from the Acabado menu which isn’t very visually appealing there is a cool option through the use of the ShiftNav plugin.

Example Of AcabadoTheme.com on Mobile

Using ShiftNav can allow you to tweak the menu you use and allow you to present content first for your display. It is a simple plugin and then appliance of CSS to clean up the display along with to remove the header navigation if you choose.

For example, I have it hiding navigation under 960 pixels to make the display functional on tablets and below.

For those looking to give their blog a unique look on mobile or possibly all displays, I would recommend looking into ShiftNav.

  1. I can’t seem to get this plugin, or any other responsive menu plugin, to work in Acabado 1.1.5 – the hamburger menu simply won’t open. My primary reason for installing the ShiftNAV plugin is to keep the main menu from closing on scroll/resize on mobile – do you have any tips for getting the plugin to operate or for keeping the main menu open on mobile until someone taps the close button?

    1. They know that this is broken and it is in the developer hands to fix. When I use the ShiftNav it is to replace the core menu. If you want a hamburger then you need to wait until the fix is in. ShiftNAV is an entirely separate menu system.
